Breathe with Me

How can you lie

so still and silent,

seemingly content...

when all the world

cries muffled tears

from open-ended viral fears?

"Be still," you say,

"and breathe with me.

What is and what will be

will be."

Josette Abruzzini 3/23/2020

This poem was inspired by Lake Winola, Pennsylvania, where I live.

Dive right in and let water inspire you to write a poem.

I wrote this poem as part of the #waterpoemproject

This prompt was from author Irene Latham:

How does water speak? What does a lake, river, waterfall etc. say?

Imagine a conversation with water.
